Binary ring – herkimer diamond and labradorite

Description

A new ring from my spring Gold Rush collection. This piece features a mysterious jet herkimer diamond with deep carbon inclusions. To contrast I’ve paired it with a brightly flashing labradorite gemstone. These have checker cut facets. The herkimer diamond is also faceted but it’s created by nature to have up to 23 random facets per stone. A challenge to work with in a tradition bezel setting. I framed it with spikey prongs appropriate for these edgy raw stones and made this ring extra tall and stately. It has 5 open bars the front is soft polished and the backside is hammered for texture and polished. The band is a thick and adjustable casting which fits a 6 to 9.
